A Legacy of Agricultural Tradition and Winemaking Passion

In the heart of La Roda, in Castilla-La Mancha—where agricultural tradition is woven into everyday life—stands Bodega La Remediadora.

Our winery has masterfully combined the wisdom passed down through generations with modern innovations to craft exceptional wines that capture the spirit and essence of our land.

Bodegas La Remediadora was founded on March 29, 1946, by a group of visionary farmers, with ConstantinoJareñoValverde serving as its first president.

The winery was established in the picturesque town of La Roda, a place that has since become synonymous with high-quality wines.

LA RODA

Our Vineyards

Our winery boasts over 1,600 hectares of estate-owned vineyards, located on prime lands with clay-limestone soils, ideal for producing exceptional wines. The region’s climate is harsh, with cold winters, dry and warm summers, and rainfall mainly concentrated in autumn and spring.

These conditions, combined with permeable, fertile, and shallow soils, result in a limited grape yield per vine, but with extraordinary quality. The grapes reach full ripeness and are harvested at their optimal state, which is essential for crafting our wines.

Traditionally, our most widely cultivated grape varieties have been Tempranillo and Airén. However, in our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of our wines, we have restructured our vineyards and introduced new varieties. Today, we produce Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Bobal, Airén, Macabeo, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Muscat. This diversification has allowed us to broaden our portfolio and enhance the overall quality of our products.

Our Facilities

Over more than 75 years of history, we have made significant investments to equip our winery with state-of-the-art, modern facilities. We have fermentation tanks of various capacities, allowing us to handle both large volumes and select batches, thereby enhancing the quality of our finest bottled wines. Our facilities are outfitted with automated systems for temperature control and maceration times, as well as auxiliary equipment for filtration, centrifugation, and wine stabilisation. All machinery is made of stainless steel and other specialized materials that ensure optimal storage conditions.

The winemaking process is completed in our ageing cellars, where an extensive collection of American and French oak barrels houses our finest wines for extended periods. After barrel ageing, the wines are further matured in bottles stored in climate-controlled cellars, protected from light and extreme temperatures, ensuring the final quality of the product.

Bottled wine production began in 1968 under the brand Gazpachero. In the mid-1970s, we launched our second commercial brand, Moravio. In 2000, we created our most iconic brand, La Villa Real, followed later by Tópico. These brands reflect our passion for crafting wines that capture the essence of our terroir.
