Great Success of the First Wine and Food Pairing Tasting in Honor of the 2025 San Isidro Festivities

On Friday, May 9, the first edition of the San Isidro Wine and Food Pairing Tasting was held, an event organized as part of the patron saint festivities that brought together wine, gastronomy, and cultural heritage in the unique setting of the San Sebastián Hermitage.
The event gathered 60 participants, the maximum capacity allowed, who enjoyed an experience designed to highlight both local products and the region’s winemaking tradition. The wines selected for the occasion came from Villa Real by Bodega La Remediadora, one of the most representative wineries in La Mancha region, known for its work with native grape varieties and its strong focus on quality.

Each wine was served alongside a selection of dishes prepared by Restaurante Molina, which created a menu carefully matched to the characteristics of each wine. The result was a balanced and accessible sensory journey that allowed attendees to discover new combinations of flavors and textures.

The tasting was led by an oenologist from the Regulatory Council of the La Mancha Designation of Origin, who explained, step by step, the nuances of each wine, its origin, production process, and how it complemented each dish. The expert’s insights provided context and helped participants better understand the connection between wine and cuisine.
The event, which lasted approximately two hours, unfolded in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere, blending technical explanations with informal comments and opportunities for interaction among attendees. The warm reception of this first edition has opened the door to the possibility of repeating the event in future years as a way to enrich the municipality’s cultural and festive offerings during San Isidro.
The organizers have positively assessed the development of the event and the public’s response, highlighting the respect with which the experience was enjoyed and the interest shown by attendees
